Compensation:
Pay Range: $63,875 - $103,800 / yearly

Job Description:
The Employee Relations Partner provides guidance to employees and managers for employee relations support as well as HR generalist responsibilities. Serves as the first point of HR contact for leadership and staff members in assigned customer unit(s)/departments.
Key Responsibilities
· Serves as a resource and liaison for employee relations issues demonstrating a knowledgeable and comprehensive approach. Inspire trust and confidence with employees and leaders with the HR partnership.
o Advise leadership on appropriate actions with regards to hiring, terminating, counseling, disciplining, training, and supervision.
o Ensure that employee relations matters are addressed in a timely manner consistent with UAB Medicine mission and policies. Demonstrate understanding of entity specific as well as UAB Medicine policies and procedures.
o Ensure a constructive approach to the disciplinary process; coordinate resolution of conflicts between employee and leader. Refer employees to supportive resources such as EACC when appropriate.
o Engage appropriate involvement of internal partners, i.e. BTAM, UAB Police, EACC, Risk Management, and Compliance to proactively ensure risk management and workplace safety.
o Proactively communicate elevated behavior incidents, patterns and trends to Director-Employee Relations.
o Draft, proof and finalize documents ensuring accuracy and compliance with policy/legal requirements.
o Maintain appropriate employee relations files and records.
· Participate in sponsored events and activities to remain knowledgeable of employee relations climate.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
Position requires Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, and five (5) years of related experience Knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Exceptional oral and written communication skills demonstrating a positive communication approach. Ability to effectively operate in complex situations demonstrating effective organizational, listening, inquiring, problem-solving, and investigative skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Previous health care HR experience preferred.
