The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Urology Chair Office, is seeking a Researcher II.

General Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision:

• To set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals.
• To collect, enter and summarize data.
• To monitor results and report unusual outcomes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Conducts basic science research. Breed animals and maintain colonies.
2. Processes human samples. Data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
3. Prepares reports/data in the prescribed format.
4. Writes and edits manuscripts and abstracts as needed.
5. Collects Data for assigned projects.
6. Analyzes data in a timely fashion, maintain data records, and organize data for presentations.
7. Presents data in informal and formal meetings with the PI and/or laboratory members.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Hourly Salary Range $15.50 - $16.82

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
• OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience

Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

• Research experience with cell culture and animals.
