The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Med - Hematology Oncology, is seeking a Researcher V . The position will work in Dr. Randall Davis' laboratory conducting fundamental research in lymphocyte regulation and immune defense using mouse and human models.

General Responsibilities

To be responsible for the overall operation of the lab.
To oversee projects within the lab.
To contribute to the design, interpretation and writing of grant proposals and publications.
To supervise a research team, direct and teach lab practices.
To manage lab equipment and supplies.
To work independently and with other lab members to perform projects and achieve goals of the laboratory.
To contribute significantly to the planning/design of studies and report outcomes.
To help develop long or short-term goals.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Performs projects within the laboratory and assumes project-related responsibilities for day to-day operation of lab activities.
Collects, enters, summarizes, analyzes, performs statistical analysis, and interprets data.
Monitors results, detects, and reports unusual outcomes, develops modifications,
Troubleshoots and provides data to management.
Generates figures to summarize data and present results.
With direction, contributes to IACUC and grant proposals and assists in the preparation and editing of applications.
Helps with colony maintenance and monitoring of experimental studies using mouse models.
Performs other duties as assigned.
