RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST: STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES
UAB Student Health Services is actively seeking qualified candidates for the Radiology Technologist position under the direction of a physician to perform radiological procedures at a technical level without requiring constant supervision of technical detail. To perform various technical procedures requiring independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. They may be assigned a variety of other duties by department management, including but not limited to quality control and participation in a variety of training and committee work. Additional duties will include scheduling and inputting specialty radiology orders through the UAB Impact System and required pre-certifications. Also, they will be assigned to TB compliance responsibility for the Medical Clearance process, which often involves a Chest X-ray.
Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and accurately performs diagnostic examinations
- Familiar with the characteristics of all general radiographic equipment and accessories, demonstrates proper use and care of equipment and prints radiographic films as needed
- Scheduling and inputting specialty radiology orders through the UAB Impact System, processing required pre-certifications, and following up and overseeing results
- Assigned to TB compliance responsibility for medical clearance
- Quality control and participation in a variety of training and committee work
- Performs other duties as assigned
Hourly Pay Range: $18.35 - $29.80
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of relevant experience are required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in radiography required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
