The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Ped - Gastroenterology, Hepatology, & Nutrition, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II. This position will conduct study activities in accordance with study protocols, IRB regulations, and Good Clinical Practice. Coordinates all aspects of clinical and observational research studies. Tasks include subject screening, recruitment, consenting, administering surveys, collecting data, and conducting assessments.
General Responsibilities
- To serve as a liaison with medical staff, University Departments, ancillary departments and/or satellite facilities.
- To organize patient enrollment planning.
- To conduct quality assurance activities.
- To compile and analyze data.
- To develop and implement procedures, maintain records, track progress, and conduct quality assurance on data collected.
- To serve as a mentor to junior staff, including student assistants.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Data entry into collaborative network registry of extracted data from EMR on a weekly basis (ICN).
- Administrative/coordinator role within quality improvement focused team which includes compiling reports, submitting reports to national collaborative network, attendance at weekly team meetings, monthly network-wide virtual meetings and annual in-person conference (ICN and Divisional)
- Screening and consenting patients in clinic for various research studies with oversight from the Pl (ICN)
- Regulatory document duties for research studies including preparation and submission to authorities (ICN and Divisional)
- Data entry, organization, record keeping, and handling of blood or tissue specimens for research studies (ICN and Divisional)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $50,050 - $81,330
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
- 2-3 years clinical trials experience.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of basic scientific research.
