Position Summary:
We are seeking a Licensed Counselor to join our Psychiatric Clinic at UAB Huntsville Regional Medical Campus.
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing cognitive-behavioral therapy and other counseling services to children, adults, and families. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative and friendly environment with excellent benefits and a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts psychotherapy sessions with psychiatry patients.
- Includes individual and family sessions.
- Interviews patients and families to obtain person history relative to diagnosis and treatment.
- Provides psychosocial clinical assessment.
- Completes patient documentation according to government and department standards.
- Facilitates and reviews individualized treatment plans according to standards.
- Provides case management/casework functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $45,395- $73,770
LOCATED IN HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Counseling, Mental Health, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related Human Services field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed as a(n) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling (ABEC), currently licensed as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners or currently licensed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Marriage and Family Therapy required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hard Skills: Experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other counseling services
- Soft Skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; strong organizational and time-management skills
