Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Med - Infectious Diseases, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.
Under general supervision, the Clinical Research Coordinator I performs duties related to initiating and implementing project activities. Supports project activities for the overall project but also specific to four teams: (1) Data and Evaluation; (2) AI Innovations; (3) Community Engagement; and (4) Communications, Media, and Policy.
General Responsibilities
To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Builds collaborative relationships with implementation partners at different study sites.
Tracks and reports site progress throughout the studies and problem-solves study operations and implementation issues.
Identifies operational obstacles and finds solutions for proper study implementation and conduct.
Completes site visits and ensures study procedures are being implemented as stated in the protocol.
Meeting notes and coordinating/leading study meetings, keeping the studies moving forward and on track, including coordinating regular conference calls, setting agendas, and taking notes. Attending to fiscal matters pertaining to study activities as requested. Coordinating study-related supplies and purchases.
Manages and trains Research Assistants as needed for specific activities.
Supports protocol development and standard operating procedures (SOPs), Study Operations Manuals, etc. Participate in project training, maintain study certifications, etc.
Perform occasional general nursing duties such as, but not limited to, phlebotomy, collection and processing of samples, and perform and/or assist with clinical procedures as necessary during the project visits.
Participates in informing project participants of their research results, support compensation, etc. Support collecting, organizing, and maintaining data forms, collaborating with data personnel to ensure collected data is accurate and of high quality.
Assists the Program Director with preparing reports, dissemination materials, etc. Assists the Program Director and Investigators with additional roles or responsibilities identified during project implementation
Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
Preferences
Bachelor's or Master's level degree preferred.
