MATERIALS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT

General Responsibilities:
To help with Science kits/labs by packing, organizing and delivering. To deliver in the regional area of local schools and teachers. To maintain the warehouse area and materials.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Knowledge of general warehouse/storage procedures, item identification, and storage areas in order to pull stock and materials to fill orders.
2. Written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items according to standard operating procedures.
4. Ability to prepare forms related to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and labeling for incoming and outgoing supplies, materials, and equipment.
5. Ability to work as part of a team.
6. Ability to operate various office machines including printers, computers and various software packages.
7. Ability to maintain records and filing systems.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Hourly Pay Range: $15.00 – $20.30
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or GED required.
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
Currently licensed with a Driver's License from the State of Alabama required.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
• Must pass driver safety training, and an acceptable driving record is required
• Ability to operate IHE-owned motor vehicles while complying with safety codes, state and federal traffic rules, regulations, and safe operating practices
• Ability to relate well to a diverse population
• Proficient in the use of standard office software, including email
• Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication
• Strong organizational skills
