COMPUTATIONAL SCIENTIST

The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine seeks to hire a Computational Scientist. We are seeking a candidate with proven expertise in both frontend and backend web development, particularly in Python. The Computational Scientist will play a crucial role in developing innovative computational methods and providing solutions that leverage a variety of techniques, including mathematical theories and engineering principles. This position will also involve collaboration with team members to address complex challenges effectively.
General Responsibilities
Collaborates in problem assessment, analysis, and development of computational methods or procedures.
Independently evaluates, selects, and applies appropriate methods to specific research problems.
Proposes solutions in engineering, the sciences, and other fields using mathematical theories and techniques.
Optimizes and extends algorithms, analysis pipelines, and software to establish and ensure the effectiveness and scalability of computing infrastructure.
Provides consultation and expertise in applying computer-based solutions to complex research problems.
Performs computerized data processing operations and statistical analyses of research data.
Creates visualizations to communicate research results effectively.
Performs code reviews and analysis reviews.
Writes summary reports for collaborators.
Prepares figures for publication.
Assists with manuscript preparation and writing.
Presents results internally and to collaborators and other groups.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $85,600 - $139,100
Qualifications
Education
Doctorate degree in a related field OR Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
OR Bachelor's degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience required.
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
