Description
- Serves as a member of the Heersink School of Medicine (HSOM) Dean's Office Human Resources team, partnering with assigned departments, centers, and institutes to deliver strategic and operational HR services in collaboration with the Office of Human Resources.
- Provides comprehensive human resources support for faculty and staff across assigned HSOM units, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, organizational design, compensation, classification, and performance management.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to department leadership by interpreting and administering University and HSOM human resources policies, procedures, and best practices while recommending appropriate solutions to complex HR matters.
- Acts as the liaison between assigned departments, centers, institutes, the HSOM Dean's Office, and the Office of Human Resources for academic and non-academic HR transactions, ensuring timely resolution of personnel matters.
- Ensures compliance with University, School of Medicine, and regulatory requirements by providing guidance on HR policies, maintaining appropriate documentation, and supporting audit and reporting activities.
- Partners with hiring managers throughout the recruitment lifecycle, including position planning, job posting development, candidate selection, offer coordination, onboarding, and faculty recruitment support, while collaborating with Talent Acquisition and other HR stakeholders.
- Coordinates and facilitates HR transactions, including new positions, position requests, reclassifications, compensation actions, personnel changes, and employment status updates, ensuring required approvals and documentation are complete and processed accurately.
- Maintains HR records and documentation in accordance with University record retention requirements and Dean's Office procedures while safeguarding confidential employee information.
- Provides responsive consultation to department administrators, managers, and supervisors on day-to-day HR matters, including policy interpretation, performance management, employee relations, leave administration, and organizational changes, ensuring consistent application of University and School of Medicine policies.
- Participates in Dean's Office HR initiatives, process improvement efforts, training, and special projects that enhance operational efficiency and customer service across the Heersink School of Medicine.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
