Position Summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Molecular & Cellular Pathology, is in search of a skilled Researcher III to join their team. The candidate will perform Lab Operations: Setting up and performing cellular, molecular biology, and biochemical procedures, and animal studies; Data Management: Collecting, summarizing, and analyzing data using specialized software; and Specialized Tasks: Depending on the lab (e.g., infectious diseases, oncology, or genetics). Additional lab duties include mammalian cell culture, lab maintenance of reagents and cell lines, ordering and general lab maintenance.

General Responsibilities

  • As directed, to independently set up and perform experiments and procedures in support of lab goals.

  • To collect, enter, summarize and analyze data.

  • To monitor results, detect and report unusual outcomes and suggest modifications.

  • To develop and improve techniques for the lab.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Experimental set up, signaling studies, conducting and analyzing data as described by the PI, lab maintenance, ordering, reconciling, cell line testing, reagent maintenance, lab safety upkeep.

  2. Data analysis of experiment, documentation, helping other lab members as needed.

  3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $ 35,570- $ 59,800

Qualifications

Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field OR Bachelor s degree in related field and two (2) years of related experience OR Associate's degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

  • MS in Multidisciplinary Biomedical Science, MS in Life sciences, or M.Sc. in Integrated Biotechnology preferred.
