COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER-HSOM-H (PART-TIME)

General Responsibilities:
This position will meet the needs of GIMPOP by understanding the various programs' needs within the division and having oversight/responsibility of addressing them. Executing communications and marketing strategies and programs to influence employee engagement, increase employee knowledge, and share key division messages. Develop a variety of employee communications that support units of the division. To draft, edit, and deliver employee messaging through available media, including print matter, advertisements, e-publications, websites, intranet content, social media, database-driven web content, change management communications, presentations, other employee messaging and materials, and ongoing internal communications. To make the best use of available technologies and ensure an integrated internal presentation of the UAB brand. Gather and analyze data on communications effectiveness and recommend improvements to extend reach and readership. Create designs for a variety of products, including ads, publications, posters, flyers, brochures, websites, and corporate communications in collaboration with the marketing team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Manages the daily duties for content creation and specific communications projects, such as executive communications, editorial content, and social media.
2. Collaborates with Heersink School of Medicine leadership or departmental leadership, University Relations, and UAB Health System marketing to amplify and strengthen employee engagement, culture, and values.
3. Manages content workflow and processes, including managing approval processes for both UAB and NIH.
4. Track results of campaigns for reporting to program leadership and for use in making strategic and campaign adjustments.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
Hourly Pay Range: $25.25 – $34.13
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.
