General Responsibilities:

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

2. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

3. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

4. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

5. Skill with catheter placement and repeat blood draws is required.

6. Familiarity with pediatric research including pubertal staging desired.

7. Conduct protocols pertaining to human research under direction of PIs.

8. Conduct all study activities in accordance with the protocol, Institutional Review Board (IRB) regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

9. Place IVs, blood withdrawal, spinning aliquoting plasma/serum , administer medications, conduct studies in the Clinical Research Unit at Webb.

10. Adhere to institutional policies, attention to research safety and integrity, Safety of participants comes first.

11.Manage participant care including conducting visits, monitoring vitals and collecting various assessments such as adverse event (AE) information or questionnaires.

Minimum Requirements Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required. Licenses / Certifications / Registrations BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Qualifications
