Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning is seeking a PROGRAM MANAGER I to manage programmatic functions that fulfill functional, strategic, and technical objectives. This position will participate in the development of program objectives and is responsible for achieving objectives within defined parameters with minimal daily oversight. Additional this new positions requires the use of independent judgment to determine the best approach to accomplish objectives established in the program plan and may supervise student workers as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as communication liaison between CELL and faculty and community members. Communicate clearly and promptly with faculty and current or prospective learners.
- Meet with course instructors to determine support needs and timelines.
- Collaborate with CELL team to develop actionable recommendations for process enhancements. Work closely with internal team to implement and track recommended process improvements.
- Manage work agreements and adhere to course budgets.
- Manage course technical support, including course creation in Catalog and Canvas, digital badging, and troubleshooting registration and enrollment issues.
- Ensure courses and Catalog listings are fully accessible.
- Provide regular reports to faculty, including financial, enrollment, and course evaluation data.
- Provide basic instructional design assistance.
- Supervise student assistants and temporary workers when necessary. Delegate appropriate responsibilities and provide clear direction.
- Analyze program success data and help generate improvement strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
(Annual Salary: $43,890 - $71,320)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
