Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Neurology Chair Office, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I. As a Clinical Research Coordinator I in the Department of Neurology's Division of Cognitive and Behavioral Disorders, you will work closely with the direct supervisor and Principal Investigators, assist with research study coordination and implementation, screening of potential patients for protocol eligibility, and participate in the informed consent process.
General Responsibilities
To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for completing Case Report Forms (CRFs), entering clinical research data, planning and coordinating strategies of increasing patient enrollment, improving efficiency, and training personnel.
Ensures compliance with all federal and local agencies, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and local Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Performs IRB review and submissions.
Schedules and participates in monitoring and auditing activities, and is required to communicate project status and improvement areas, as well as provide fiscal management for all studies.
Study documentation maintenance and reporting, patient visits/recruitment, research patient documentation, and research patient screening and consenting.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferences
Prior clinical research experience or patient-facing experience preferred but not required.
