General Responsibilities:
Plans, coordinates, implements, and assesses leadership development and community engagement initiatives aligned with departmental learning outcomes and divisional priorities. Manages signature and ongoing leadership and service experiences, ensuring programs are accessible and responsive to student needs. Develops leadership learning pathways that integrate reflection, skill-building, and civic responsibility. Advises and co-advises student leadership councils, committees, or organizations connected to leadership development and service initiatives, with specific assignments determined by office needs. Supports student leaders in goal setting, organizational management, event planning, and leadership development. Fosters student learning through intentional advising practices that emphasize self-awareness, collaboration, ethical leadership, and community impact. Workshops, Presentations, and Constructive Dialogue. Presents leadership workshops, presentations, and trainings for students, student organizations, and campus partners. Plans, implements, and assesses dialogue-based learning opportunities, including sessions that promote constructive dialogue, civic engagement, and social responsibility. Collaborating with colleagues to ensure leadership education efforts are aligned across the department and responsive to emerging campus needs. Communicating and collaborating regularly with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to support leadership and service initiatives. Maintaining and strengthening community partnerships that provide meaningful service and engagement opportunities for students. Representing the department in campus and community meetings related to leadership development and civic engagement. Assists with program assessment efforts, including data collection, evaluation, and reporting related to leadership and service initiatives. Use assessment data and student feedback to inform program improvement and innovation. Supports the department's commitment to data-informed decision-making and continuous learning. Provides general support for departmental events, initiatives, and priorities as needed. Collaborates with colleagues across functional areas to advance an integrated model of student engagement and leadership development.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Assesses the development needs of students and student organizations through intentional advising strategies.
2. Designs programs and services to promote student learning and development of student leaders, which includes providing logistical and administrative support for student events.
3. Facilitates appropriate data collection and evaluation efforts using current technology and methods.
4. Utilizes results of data collection and evaluation efforts to inform programming, advising, and future priorities.
5. Collaborates with other University entities to produce programs and services for students.
6. Maintains accurate, current, and confidential records for budgeting and student information.
7. Marketing duties, including the maintenance of accurate and current website content.
8. May supervise undergraduate and graduate student employees.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary Pay Range: $35,570 – $42,000
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Sciences or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences:
• Exemplary organizational skills with a strong emphasis on details.
• Experience in planning programs and events.
• Ability to present leadership workshops and training sessions that address character formation.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Evening and weekend work may be required throughout the year.
• Strong computer skills using Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
