PROGRAM MANAGER II

We are seeking a highly motivated Program Manager II to manage complex, extramurally funded research programs focused on geospatial social determinants of health and the use of consumer wearable devices to improve clinical outcomes. This role manages research activities across multiple clinical areas, including orthopaedic surgery, pediatric surgery, and hypertension, and operates at the intersection of clinical research, data science, and population health. The role is responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, and execution of one or more research programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and achievement of program objectives. This position plays a critical role in both the administrative and scientific management of funded research initiatives.

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for administratively managing a large or complex University program or multiple programs.

  • Provides input in the development of program plan and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters.

  • Typically supervises small staffs and are responsible for long range planning. Responsibilities include budgeting, networking/public relations, technical training and assistance, grant and report writing.

  • May handle regulatory responsibilities, contract submissions and identify research funding.

  • May handle event planning and oversight of construction projects.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Program Research Management

  • Manage day‑to‑day operations of extramurally funded research projects, ensuring milestones and reporting deadlines are met.

  • Manage the development, maintenance, and oversight of REDCap databases for IRB‑approved studies.

  • Manage the preparation, submission, and tracking of IRB applications, amendments, and continuing reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with research protocols, institutional policies, and ethical standards.

Participant Recruitment & Study Management

  • Manage participant identification, recruitment, enrollment, and tracking across clinical research studies.

  • Coordinate and manage study visits, data collection, and follow‑up activities.

  • Maintain accurate documentation related to participant consent and study participation.

Data Research Management

  • Conduct and manage qualitative interviews and qualitative data analysis.

  • Manage and contribute to data analysis efforts, including the application of advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to geospatial and wearable device data.

  • Coordinate with investigators and data scientists to ensure data quality, integrity, and usability.

Scientific Writing & Dissemination

  • Manage contributions to scientific outputs, including manuscripts, technical reports, and abstracts for peer‑reviewed journals.

  • Manage contributions to presentations and posters for academic and scientific conferences.

  • Manage and conduct literature reviews to inform ongoing and proposed research.

Grants & Reporting

  • Manage and contribute to grant development activities, including drafting supporting materials for proposals.

  • Manage progress reports, sponsor communications, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Salary Rate: $51,270-$83,300

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required.

  • Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
