PROGRAM MANAGER-SPH

Position Summary:
The position is located within the UAB Sparkman Center for Global Health (SCGH). The UAB SCGH is an endowed center established in 1979 and located in the UAB School of Public Health. The Center has a long history and impact locally and globally. Sparkman Center's vision is to make substantive and sustainable contributions to achieving health equity and social justice in resource-limited settings around the globe by working collaboratively to increase public health knowledge and capacity.
General Responsibilities:
1. Management of SCGH-affiliated training grants.
2. Assistance with the management and daily programmatic activities of the secretariat's core functions, educational, training, and strategic engagement.
3. Communication activities in the UAB Sparkman Center for Global Health, including SCGH Summer Institute, Sparkman seminar series, and special events.
4. Assistance with the Sparkman website.
5. Promotion of Sparkman Center-affiliated programs through the website, social media, and other channels.
6. Conduct of administrative and programmatic tasks, including coordination of procurement, travel arrangements, and assistance with Center-related financial tasks, grants, and contracts.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Pay Range: $45,395 – $73,770
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences:
• Bachelor's degree in public health, international affairs, or a related field
• 3 years of related work experience, interest, and experience working in Global Health and an international environment
• Experience with communication and web maintenance (graphic software to prepare flyers, promotional materials, newsletters, e.g., Canva, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop; basic web maintenance and social media; experience with administrative and programmatic tasks; experience with management of large events.
