PROGRAM MANAGER I

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Support for academic programs (mostly MS programs): advising MS students; helps get schedules together (when needed) and proceeds with graduation analysis.
2. Graduation and Certificate applications- first approver; sends out degree application reminders at beginning of each semester; makes sure students link personal accounts to UABCS LinkedIn account when they apply for graduation; conducts student exit surveys; generates reports.
3. Admission liaison with INTO; assists the MS program director; OPT: checks student's graduation application submission approvals; CPT: checks validity of proposed employers.
4. Signs International Student Vacation Forms; final semester check; assists departmental chair in approving requests from students for reduced course load for final semester.
5. AIC Data Analysis Education: collects data of students who committed AIC violations for further analysis and potential improvements on MS admission criteria; organizes and hosts AIC related seminars for MS students.
6. Collaboration: works with MS and UG program directors on a variety of other tasks, including strategies for continuously improving the programs, putting together orientation events, keeping up with accreditation-related data, and employment status of graduates.
7. Works with Career Service on mini job fairs for Computer Science graduate students; marketing communication activities; keeps web pages for academic programs up to date and works with the UG and MS program director on day-to-day communications.
8. Recruiting first point of contact for potential new MS students; involves going to targeted grad school fairs/events.
9. Helps maintain department calendars (PhD seminars, research, committee meetings, guest talks, etc.)
10. Assists with retention/engagement activities; class scheduling; course catalogue updates; data collection, record keeping, and backup for admin associate on financial matters such as travel reimbursement, purchasing, and paperwork for student employees.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary Pay Range: $43,890 – $71,320
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
