Job Description
Nursing Unit and Emergency Department nurses report directly to the Manager, Patient Care Advocacy. The Nursing Staff assess, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care rendered to patients presenting at the Emergency Department and Nursing Unit according to Policy. The staff participates on teams created to improve outcome quality through process improvement and team technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Must have a current Alabama license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
· BLS certification required by the end of employee provisional period. ACLS and PALS certification required within one year of employment.
· Must maintain required certifications.
· Previous Emergency Department experience and knowledge of clinical ophthalmology and terminology is desirable.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.
