The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a DIRECTOR-DATA SOLUTIONS-ENT. This role is responsible for bridging the operational gap between enterprise data capabilities and the diverse needs of academic and administrative units across campus. The Director provides innovative and effective technical management and expertise in decision support services, including business intelligence, data management, data governance, data analytics, and reporting. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis.

Responsibilities:

1. Serve as the operational technology lead in implementing data solutions that support institutional research, planning, and assessment functions.

2. Provide guidance and expertise in the development and implementation of data solutions for university departments and divisions to support their respective missions.

3. Coordinate UAB IT and campus departmental/divisional resources to gather and document data requirements.

4. Lead the development and execution of detailed project plans, ensuring workflow documentation, accurate technical designs, efficient resource use, and timely project completion.

5. Identify opportunities for data quality improvement and advocate for solutions through software enhancements, emerging technologies, and process re-engineering.

6. Develop and promote common data practices and procedures to ensure campus data personnel operate within a shared framework.

7. Explore and lead the deployment of advanced data technologies (e.g., AI/ML, predictive analytics) to support the evolving needs of academic and administrative units.

8. Perform other duties as assigned.

(Annual Salary: $109,250 - $177,530)
