Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham Temporary Services is seeking Patient Services Coordinator II to Coordinate appointments, register patients efficiently, and provide excellent customer service at the reception area. Act as a liaison between the billing office and patients while collaborating with the clinic director and staff to ensure smooth operations.

1. Coordinates scheduling and facilitates pre-certification and admitting processes as necessary.
2. Coordinates outpatient scheduling and facilitates pre-certification for diagnostic testing and specialty
referrals.
3. Serves as an advocate for patient and patient family assisting patients and patient families with
obtaining services and assistance available within the University or Birmingham community.
4. Answers patient inquiries verbally or in writing, acting as an advocate
5. Provides and documents a thorough and accurate record of patient plans and interactions.
6. Performs administrative functions such as collaborating with other members of the care team. May
assign work to others, may orders supplies.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.


*Bilingual Spanish speaker would be a great asset.

Hourly Pay Rate: $16.50

Schedule: 20hrs a week

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years Medical or Dental office experience office/clerical experience in customer service, physician office or other clinical environment required. Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills; excellent customer service and communication skills required.
