Description
This position supports University Contracts and the University Contracts Officers. The University Contracts Specialist role is to process University agreements with third parties from initial submission until signature and return of fully executed contract. To act as a University representative with both internal clients and third-party vendors and purchasers for University Contracts administration. To provide specific technical or topical expertise, information, training and problem resolution for University Contracts related activities.
1. Reviews contracts uploaded into contract management system and ensures compliance with University Contracts policies and procedures to be ready for review. Communicates with University staff to solicit corrections, processes contracts that are ready for review and provides to reviewers.
2. Acts as University Contracts representative to University staff. Trains University personnel on meeting basic University Contracts requirements. Provides advice and assistance to University staff on contract management system and compliance with University Contracts policies and procedures.
3. Reviews, assesses and revises University’s template contracts for signature.
4. Provides reviewed and revised contracts to third party vendor or purchaser contacts following review and drafts correspondence to explain revisions. Corresponds with third parties regarding review and revisions. Reviews contracts provided by third parties to see if third party accepted initial reviewer’s edits and returns contracts when edits were not accepted to initial reviewer for review and response. Follows up with third parties and initial reviewers to ensure that contracts continue to be revised until completion.
5. Facilitates signature of contract and return of contract to third party vendor or purchaser and storage of contract for internal university purposes.
6. Identifies and reports potential problems, actions and policy issues requiring clarification or corrective action.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary range: $47,665 - $49,095
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
