Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR-NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION to participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of orientation programs for freshmen, transfer students and their parent/family members. To manage, supervise, and advise the Orientation Leaders (OLs) and the Orientation Leader Coordinators (OLCs). To assist with the administration of Parent/Family Orientation activities and various office administrative duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of a mandatory New Student Orientation program for undergraduate freshmen and transfer students. Assists with the administration of Parent Orientation as needed.
- Coordinates the recruitment, selection, training and supervision of student OLs and OLCs.
- Monitors monies budgeted for the OL program.
- Represents the office, division and the University on committees and at professional meetings relative to New Student Orientation.
- Remains knowledgeable and up to date on current trends and best practices in New Student and Parent Orientation.
- Assists with various office administrative duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
(Annual Salary: $45,395 - $55,000)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience. Master's degree preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
