MEDICAL ASSISTANT (MONTGOMERY, AL) - (T228265)
Description
Position assist physician or residents with completion of treatment/protocol. To perform simple, non-invasive patient procedures according to applicable protocol. May preform various clerical and/or lab duties as requested.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Performs specific, non-invasive clinical procedures to prepare patient or research participant for treatment or research protocol. Assists physician or other healthcare team member in administering direct and indirect treatment. Adheres to all applicable policies and protocols.
Performs clerical tasks as requested including, but not limited to, scheduling, maintaining patient charts, typing and insurance filing.
May perform lab activities as requested.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives. Provides a safe environment for patients and others. Responds to the unique needs of all patients ages newborn through geriatric.
Demonstrates a responsible attitude toward continued professional growth.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Hourly Pay Range: $15.00 - $17.00
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment. Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.
