Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Psych - Behavioral Neurobiology, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I. Assists in coordinating multiple neuroimaging research studies to include participant recruitment, retention, study visits, data collection, and data entry. Will accompany research subjects to imaging centers, including the one located at Auburn University. Adheres to protocols and procedures and completes training as required. Performs general clerical duties such a: faxing, scanning, processing payment requests, and purchase order requisitions.
General Responsibilities
To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates multiple neuroimaging research studies, some of which will be done independently and some alongside the other research lab coordinators.
Collaborates with other entities, including the UAB Psychiatric Clinics, UAB Clinical Research Unit, UAB Highlands Hospital MRI Center, and Auburn University's MRI Center.
Assists with participant recruitment, retention, and visit completion.
Carefully maintains detailed paper and computer records of study participation.
Consistently updates Principal Investigators on study progress.
Will accompany research subjects to imaging centers, including the one located at Auburn University.
Adheres to and consistently familiarizes oneself with all study protocols, IRB policies and procedures, and HIPAA. Completes all training required by UAB, the IRB, and or study sponsors.
Performs general clerical duties such as answering and making phone calls, scheduling appointments, faxing, and scanning.
Orders lab supplies through purchase order requisitions in ORACLE.
Processes payment requests to pay invoices and submit employee reimbursements in ORACLE.
May assist in compiling, editing, and proofing written reports for both internal and external administrative offices.
May perform data analysis using a variety of software packages.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
Ability to operate various office machines, including computers, printers, and fax machines.
Interpersonal skills.
Microsoft Office experience.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and organization skills.
