Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham Temporary Services is seeking a Patient Account Coordinator with Conduct third-party claims activities. Ensures billing edits are corrected timely. Work with external claims payers. Resolves accounts with billing issue. Resolves accounts with credit balances. Audits Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) and other documents to research accounts. Handles patient calls. Works accounts that require advanced knowledge review. Also works with walk-in patients as needed and assists patients in financial planning for dental services.
· Provide customer service via phone and in person.
· Performs duties related to processing patient accounts such as identifying delinquent accounts, counseling patients, insurance claims and preparing various reports.
· Sets up new patient accounts and performs data entry of charges, payments and adjustments. Prepares and submits bills for payment.
· May balance and post collected money.
· Monitors outstanding balances on the accounts.
Qualifications
High School Diploma with 5 years related experience.
