INSTRUCTIONAL LABORATORY COORDINATOR
Observing lab sections at least once per semester (sometimes 17+ total labs). Recruiting, training, and check-ins with student assistants. This position is physically present in at least 3-4 lab sections per week to provide oversight and ensure smooth operation. In addition to the duties described above, this position serves as the primary contact for the student assistants, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities as well as receive guidance from the Instructional Laboratory Coordinator. This position is responsible for maintaining attendance and performance for the student assistants.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teaches laboratory sessions in selected courses
- Prepares instructional materials for specific laboratory sections for which the coordinator is responsible
- Includes preparation of media, solutions, and proper maintenance of organisms.
- Conducts preparatory sessions for other part-time teaching assistants instructing laboratories specific to the coordinator’s responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge of updated instructional materials used in specific course laboratories by reading laboratory manuals and instructor’s guides
- Prepares, administers, and grades examinations and quizzes for selected laboratories for which they have assigned responsibilities
- Prepares summarized reports of grades and provides them to the course master.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Annual Salary: $43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
