Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking Senior Technical Coordinator to be responsible for facilitating and managing the administrative, scheduling, and back-end operations of the Technical Team to ensure jobs are executed. The ideal candidate will be interested in a career in events-production. The candidate should also be comfortable dealing directly with a diverse clientele and working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be able to multitask, meet deadlines, be able to quickly adjust/ pivot to the changes/ needs of the client or artist, as well as have excellent verbal and written skills to act as a liaison for Technical (Assistant) Director as needed.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Maintains the tech calendars to manage/ track jobs and assignments
- Reviews and organize incoming job requests to determine availability of staff and team workload
- Designated timekeeper for Tech Team - Responsible for reviewing, submitting, and confirming timekeeping for part-time tech overhires as well as FT hourly tech staff under the approval of the TD/ ATD
- Manage and maintains tech files to ensure artist riders, event notes, and organization step-two documents are appropriately saved, updated/ uploaded to TripleSeat calendar, Teams, or Tech file folders
- Serves as the point of contact to UAB Arts Finance Team to facilitate orders and payment requests, or other financial affairs related items
- Responsible for ensuring tech vendors and contracts are renewed and isupplier status is current
- Manage Technical supply inventory
- Assist TD and ATD with keeping track of charges reported on Tech monthly statement
- Responsible for keeping technical memberships/ certifications and the certifications of others up-to-date- Ensure technical expenses related to other A-departments are communicated to staff
- Works appropriate tech jobs as assigned by the TD/ATD on event/ show days that requires basic to somewhat moderate stage manager/ production/ scene shop/ switchboard/ livestream/ computer AV/ switchboard assistance, specifically assigned to work UH2100
- Helps to keep the amortization schedule of technical equipment up-to-date and current
- Attends meetings and walk-throughs that involves directors, clients, and other stakeholders as needed to speak on the subject matter of technical operations and needs.
- Has a clear understanding of UAB policy and guidelines regarding HR, financial affairs, and vendors and helps to ensure the tech team is compliant
- Maintains good standing and positive relationships with technical vendors
- Perform other duties as assigned.
(Hourly Rate: $18.35 - $23.00)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Business, Arts Administration, Theatre Designs, Technology, and/or Theatre/Productions and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently certified as OSHA 10 hour General Industry preferred.
The ideal candidate will have live venue, tech, operating technical equipment knowledge for hard skills. Team player, detailed oriented, organized, excellent communication.
