Description

The Office of the Provost at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a dedicated and highly professional OFFICE ASSOCIATE II to join our team. As a central hub for academic leadership, the Office of the Provost plays a pivotal role in shaping the university's vision, supporting faculty excellence, and advancing UAB's mission of education, research, and service. This position requires an individual who is not only efficient and detail-oriented but also understands the significance of working in a high-level executive office where discretion, adaptability, and initiative are essential. The Office Associate II serves as a key administrative professional, ensuring the office operates seamlessly and that the needs of senior leadership, faculty, and campus partners are met with professionalism and efficiency. Acting as the first point of contact for the office, this role demands exceptional communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex and time-sensitive matters with discretion. The individual in this position will support administrative operations, assist with meeting and event planning, handle sensitive documents, and facilitate financial and procurement processes while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism. Success in this role requires the ability to anticipate needs, manage multiple priorities with grace under pressure, and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in service. (Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $24.40)

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and five (5) years of related experience required.
Bachelor's degree in a related field in Business Administration, Communications, Office Administration, Higher Ed Administration, Accounting or Finance and one (1) year of related experience is preferred.
Hard Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) Calendar Management Virtual Meeting Platforms (i.e. Zoom) Problem-Solving Initiative Multitasking Prioritization Professional Communication
