PHYSICAL THERAPIST
University of Alabama at Birmingham
This position will evaluate, plan, and provide physical therapy services as prescribed by the referring physician and as evidenced by the patient's needs. To complete patient-related documentation, ensuring content and timeliness to meet all professional requirements and legal/regulatory specifications.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and qualifies patients for treatment.
- Creates documented treatment plans and administers direct care in compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory standards.
- Administers active and passive exercises, therapeutic massage, and muscle reeducation.
- Evaluates the progress of patients, modifies treatment plans as needed, and creates/keeps records of the treatment and development of patients.
- Manages additional supporting staff and precepts trainees.
- Communicate with the treatment team about their assessment and provide recommendations for families.
- Educates patient's families about home care program and other resources available.
- To evaluate and develop plan of care for Physical Therapy Assistants, according to APTA guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Hourly Rate: $35.55
Qualifications
Education
Graduate from an accredited School of Physical Therapy required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Currently registered as a Registered Physical Therapist (PT) or (RPT) by the State of Alabama Board of Physical Therapy required.
Currently certified with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
