GENERAL SUMMARY

The Managed Care Contract Analyst manages Single-Case Agreements for services provided and/or arranged by the UAB Health System. This position analyzes data and prepares reports to support decision-making regarding program outcomes, payer performance, and other correlative issues related to Managed Care Contracting (MCC) needs. The Analyst performs market research supporting MCC’s understanding of changing marketplace and industry trends and serves as a liaison between internal stakeholders and the Managed Care Contracting department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manages Single-Case Agreements for services provided and/or arranged by the UAB Health System

2. Manages a portfolio of non-BUCA (BCBS, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna) payer contracts.

3. Manages the Delegated Credentialing functions including the flow of periodic roster and other provider demographic information between UAB and affected providers.

4. Analyzes data and prepares reports to support decision-making regarding program outcomes, payer performance and other correlative issues related to Managed Care Contracting (MCC) needs.

5. Performs market research supporting MCC’s understanding of changing marketplace and industry trends.

6. Serves as a liaison between internal stakeholders and Managed Care department in resolving challenges and answering questions.

7. Helps achieve organization and structure within the Managed Care Contracting department.

8. Assists with special projects and other duties, as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in a related field required. Master's Degree in Business Administration or Public Health preferred. Two (2) years of experience working with health insurers or health systems in revenue cycle, contracting, provider service, patient service or related functions required. Working knowledge of Revenue Cycle operations and strategies, public and/or private sector health insurance, and related benefits.
