RESEARCHER LEAD

As a Researcher Lead, this emerging leader role will require you to spearhead major research projects and lead a team of researchers towards achieving significant scientific goals. Your responsibilities will include strategic planning, project management, and ensuring the alignment of research activities with organizational objectives. You will play a critical role in mentoring junior researchers, fostering a collaborative research environment, and representing the research team at national and international forums. Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research participant contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens
.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Working with a high degree of independence, the Researcher Lead will:
- Oversee projects within the lab and assume responsibility for day-to-day operations
- Set up and perform experiments and procedures aligned with lab goals
- Develop and improve laboratory techniques
- Collect, enter, summarize, analyze, and interpret data
- Contribute significantly to the planning and design of studies
- Monitor results, detect and report unusual outcomes, and suggest modifications as necessary
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Technical Responsibilities:
- The position requires expertise or interest in acquiring the following techniques: Mammalian Cell Culture Maintenance of human pluripotent stem cells Differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into retinal organoids and other relevant cell types
- Histology Tissue processing.
- Staining, including histological and immunofluorescence techniques
- Evaluation of staining results using light and confocal microscopy
- Molecular Biology Assays Isolation and quantification of DNA, RNA, and proteins PCR, qPCR, and Western blot analyses
- Co-immunoprecipitation assays
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics
- Extensive experiences with mammalian cell cultures
- Degree in Biological Science; open to degrees in Science
- Prior experience with human pluripotent stem cells is highly desirable
- Doctorate in a related field
- Strong commitment to teamwork within a diverse group.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, techniques, and safety regulations.
- Ability to manage challenging, time-sensitive tasks and situations.
Salary Range: $52,555 - $85,400
Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree in a related field and one (1) years of related experience
- OR Bachelor's degree in related field and three (3) years of related experience
- OR Associate's degree in related field and five (5) years of related experience required.
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
