UAB Callahan Eye is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to work in our Pharmacy Department. The Pharmacist performs a variety of duties, which require special skills and knowledge in the various aspects of hospital pharmacy. A primary function of this position is the preparation, distribution, and control of medications that are used within the hospital and/or dispensed for use outside the hospital. Other responsibilities include those related to drug information, inventory control, and supervision of ancillary pharmacy personnel.

General Responsibilities

• Provides quality patient care for the needs of the populations served and age specific groups as indicated: pediatric (>1 – 12 years), adolescent (>12 – 17 years), adult (>17 – 65 years), and geriatric (>65 years).
• Ability to take calls during pharmacy after hours.
• Ability to work rotating weekends.

Requirements

1. Current pharmacy license in the State of Alabama with no record of licensure revocation or suspension.
2. At least one-year hospital experience preferred.
3. BLS certification required by the end of employee provisional period.
4. Must maintain required certifications.
