INFORMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST I - (T222951)

Description

Under limited supervision, the individual supports departmental information systems requirements and objectives. They engage in consultations with users to understand their needs and provide recommendations regarding both software and hardware solutions. This may involve tasks such as installing, removing, fixing, and developing customized software changes to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, they are responsible for providing training to users and creating comprehensive documentation for customer services, software, hardware, and IT processes. Furthermore, they are tasked with troubleshooting issues, as well as installing, maintaining, and repairing departmental computer hardware and peripherals to ensure optimal functionality.

Hard/Soft Skills

  1. Technical proficiency: Extensive knowledge and expertise in computer hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
  2. Troubleshooting skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  3. IT security knowledge: Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices to safeguard systems and data.
  4. Hardware maintenance: Proficiency in maintaining, repairing, and upgrading computer hardware components.

Hourly Pay Range: $18.85 - $30.65

Qualifications

Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
