Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an ACADEMIC ADVISOR III to perform academic advising for Economics and Marketing undergraduate students. To create and maintain a safe, equitable and inclusive environment that is responsive to the needs of an increasingly diverse student population. To have an advanced network of cross-campus relationships and resources. To assist academic unit with the interpretation of institutional regulations, policies, offerings and procedures. To create education plans that are consistent with students' aspirations, interests, strengths and values. To implement personal philosophy of academic advising and utilize multiple advising techniques and styles. To create rapport and maintain relationships with expert level of ability. To adapt academic advising approaches to meets the needs of a diverse student population. To deliver training to advisors within unit. To develop new programming and methods for working with students. To provide leadership within department/unit and UAB community.
(Annual Salary: $46,530 - $67,000)
Qualifications
Master's degree in Counseling, Education or a related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
This position is NOT eligible for remote / hybrid work.
