Description
Provides nutrition information, education and instruction; performs research, collects/analyzes data and prepares reports; prepares instructional materials and meals; maintains program records. Schedules and conducts nutrition assessment, education and instruction; performs pertinent record keeping and follow-up activities. Teaches group weight management classes at various UAB neighborhood clinics. Serves as department research program investigator as required. May serve as a preceptor for students in the UAB dietetic internship program. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate publications and attending related conferences and seminars. Responds to the unique needs of all patients ages newborn through geriatric. Makes presentations to internal and external organizations.
Annual Salary Range: $47,665 - $77,455
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or a related field required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Alabama State Board of Examiners for Dietetics (BOED) required.
