Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Radiology Chair Office, is seeking a Researcher II. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn something new. The candidate will support the research team and should work well with others.
General Responsibilities
Under minimal supervision:
- To set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals.
- To collect, enter and summarize data.
- To monitor results and report unusual outcomes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Cell culture preparation, development, and maintenance.
- Lab maintenance of equipment, supplies, and cleaning.
- Animal procedures: injections, tumor measurements, dissections, pre-clinical image analysis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Hourly Salary Range $15.50 - $23.51
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
- OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences
- B.S. in biology, chemistry, or related.
- Rodent handling and cell culture experience.
