GENERAL SUMMARY
To serve as an advisor and content expert on the topic of the patient experience and engagement for the UAB Health System focused on UAB Hospital. With direction from the Office of Patient Experience & Engagement (OPXE) leadership, to provide insight, guidance and facilitate initiatives to enhance patient experience. These efforts will align with UAB Health System’s strategy to become a leader in patient experience and engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Serves as a subject matter experience for patient experience and engagement within UAB Hospital.
· Analyzes and interprets patient experience data to identify trends, successes, and opportunities for improvement.
· Provides leadership updates on patient experience performance as needed within area of focus.
· Facilitates cross-functional teams focused on improving the patient experience.
· Participates on patient experience teams and task forces as needed.
· Contributes to the development, implementation and execution of Patient Experience and Engagement improvement efforts.
· Identifies and scales patient experience best practices within UAB Hospital.
· Assists in tracking projects, action items, and strategic priorities.
· Supports implementation and scaling of service excellence behaviors, tools, and tactics.
· Supports patient experience improvement through collaboration with organizational leaders.
· Supports patient experience rewards and recognition efforts.
· Rounds on patients and teams to develop new solutions, strategies, and resources.
Performs other duties as assigned in support of Office of Patient Experience and Engagement efforts across UAB Medicine.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years related health care experience required. Clinical experience preferred. Master's degree in a related field preferred. Experience working with and a strong understanding of patient experience and engagement data. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required. Must possess effective communication, facilitation and group presentation skills. Must be able to navigate a large and complex organization. Familiarity with Evidence Based Leadership or other culture change strategies preferred. Lean Six Sigma training or similar performance improvement training is preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
