Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Investigations to manage and conduct complex investigations, including Title VII and Title IX, across the UAB enterprise. This role requires a professional who can perform thorough, timely, and accurate investigations, ensuring compliance with university policies and relevant laws. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and reputation of UAB by addressing and resolving complex issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and manage comprehensive investigations into complex issues across the UAB enterprise.

  • Ensure investigations are conducted in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.

  • Compile detailed investigation reports, presenting findings and recommendations.

  • Collaborate with various departments to address and resolve issues identified during investigations.

  • Provide guidance and training to staff on investigation procedures and compliance requirements.

  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and university policies to ensure investigations adhere to all necessary standards.

  • Manage a team of Investigators

Salary Range: $99,090 - $138,000

Qualifications

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling Education, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Employment Law, or a related field.

  • A law degree with prior experience in employment law is preferred.

  • Experience:

  • At least eight (8) years of related experience in conducting and managing investigations.

  • Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

  • Additional Requirements:

  • Work experience cannot substitute for the education requirement.

  • No specific certifications required.
