Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, is seeking a Scientist I. The Scientist I will provide scientific expertise to support the research endeavors of the PI. This will include setting up study protocols, managing and conducting data analyses, writing scientific reports, presenting study results, and training and managing other study staff.
General Responsibilities
- To employ a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in a particular field of specialization.
- To plan, coordinate and conduct research.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates and conducts scientific research focused on rehabilitation and exercise.
- Designs, performs, and/or oversees experiments and data collection to ensure data integrity, quality control and protocol compliance.
- Ensures accurate reporting of study results.
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets data.
- Prepares statistical and narrative reports and/or graphs.
- Helps mentor trainees and post-docs on the study team as needed.
- Aides in the design of grant funded studies and funding applications.
- Helps write grants and publications.
- Manages other staff on data collection, database design/management and analysis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range $63,125.00 - $103,700.00
Qualifications
- Doctor of Philosophy, D.V.M. or M.D. degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
- OR M.D. and Master's degree.
- OR Master's degree and four (4) years of related experience
- OR Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of related experience
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
