ANIMAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN I
Animal Lab Technicians are responsible for the husbandry of all animals used in ongoing research projects at UAB. This role is critical for the university to achieve standard care of animals used in research. Job is an apprenticeship in laboratory animal technology. Provides training and experience toward acquiring competence in caring for laboratory animals of different species and specialized colonies. Receives continuous training and experience towards acquiring competence in caring for laboratory animals of different species and specialized colonies (i.e. pathogen free, germ free, and biohazard, etc.) This position will require the successful candidate to have good communication skills, be a self-starter with a work with strong work ethic, and have the ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
Note: This position will require TB and drug testing for external candidates
Hourly Range: $15.00
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required
