ANIMAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN II

Animal Lab Technicians are responsible for the husbandry of all animals used in ongoing research projects at UAB. This role is critical for the university to achieve standard care of animals used in research. Job is an apprenticeship in laboratory animal technology. Provides training and experience toward acquiring competence in caring for laboratory animals of different species and specialized colonies. Receives continuous training and experience towards acquiring competence in caring for laboratory animals of different species and specialized colonies (i.e. pathogen free, germ free, and biohazard, etc.). Additionally, the ideal candidate will have good communication skills, self-starter with a good work ethic. Lastly the ideal candidate should be in good physical condition with the ability to lift 50 or more pounds.

Hourly Salary: $15.50-$24.75

High School diploma or GED and one (1) year of related experience required. Currently licensed with a Driver's License from the State of Alabama required.
