PROGRAM MANAGER II

The Division of Preventive Medicine seeks a Program Manager II who will be responsible for administratively managing a large or complex University program or multiple programs. Provides input in the development of program plans and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters. Typically supervises small staff and is responsible for long-range planning. Responsibilities include budgeting, networking/public relations, technical training and assistance, and grant and report writing. May handle regulatory responsibilities, contract submissions, and identify research funding.

Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring strategic program goals are met as outlined in the funded study application and/or any approved revisions
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations including, but not limited to:
  • Project management
  • Recruitment and retention of participants
  • Data collection and management
  • Supervision of staff
  • Monitoring of expenses to budget
  • Serve as a liaison and primary point of contact for a diverse coalition of investigators and community partners
  • Ensure that all activities and meetings are planned and implemented according to timelines
  • Develop specific recruitment/retention materials for participants
  • Identify and develop training program follow-up and recommendations upon conclusion of program
  • Manage data collection and analysis, including:
    • Ensuring that all data is collected, entered, and screened in preparation for data analysis
    • Generate data reports to monitor progress
    • Conduct data safety monitoring
  • Perform various administrative duties including, but not limited to:
    • Creating any required reports or updates
    • Ensuring project adheres to HIPAA and UAB policies
    • Assisting in preparation of scientific papers
    • Facilitating employment process and personnel papers for key staff members
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Annual Salary: $51,270 - $83,300

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

  • Candidate must be highly adaptable and a flexible professional who embraces teamwork but can also work independently
  • Candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be enthusiastic and dependable
  • Must be organized, work under pressure, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
