The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Ped-Pulmonary, is seeking a Researcher V. This position will assist the PI in all laboratory activities including, but not limited to designing and executing experiments to meet the scientific goals of the lab; collecting, recording, and ensuring accuracy of data; providing prompt and accurate summaries of the data; recognizing methodological problems and as assisting with implementation of solutions.

General Responsibilities

To be responsible for the overall operation of the lab.
To oversee projects within the lab.
To contribute to the design, interpretation and writing of grant proposals and publications.
To supervise a research team, direct and teach lab practices.
To manage lab equipment and supplies.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Collects, analyzes, and interprets data.
Prepares statistical and narrative reports and/or graphs.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts scientific research requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard scientific techniques.
Maintains records of all research activities utilizing effective computer skills and compile data and prepare reports; ensure accuracy of data/ and perform routine to complex calculations.
Supervises and/or performs equipment maintenance, operations, and quality control procedures.
Maintains stocked, serviceable, and laboratory; place orders as instructed for supplies; and reconcile invoices and goods received.
Ensures compliance with applicable safety regulations; maintain all records and forms; and dispose of biohazardous.
Performs other duties as assigned.
