CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR I - (T215948)

Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Med - Cardiovascular Disease, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.

General Responsibilities

  • To collect and record preliminary data for clinical research programs.
  • To recruit and perform follow-up with research participants as protocols outline.
  • To schedule visits according to research protocols.
  • To assist in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
  • To maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Initiation, modification, amendments, and continuing review of IRB protocols.
  2. Data entry and meticulous paper and electronic record and file keeping.
  3. Possesses excellent organizational skills, especially with subject follow-up and reminders.
  4. Familiar with rules and regulations governing human subjects research (federal and institutional).
  5. REDCap - creation and/or use of this interface.
  6. Must be motivated and able to work independently once trained. Must be able to work well with others and be able to communicate effectively.
  7. Identify and engage with potential participants for vascular and cardiovascular research studies and clinical trials.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range: $41,175 - $66,915

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.

Preferences

  • Prior experience in a clinical or laboratory setting while obtaining informed consent.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to converse clearly and be able to explain the study to potential subjects.
  • Must be comfortable conversing with subjects over the phone.
  • Basic knowledge of digital technology
  • Experience with UAB's IRAP system is preferred not required.
  • Some familiarity with the rules/regulations that govern human subjects is preferred.
