BUSINESS OFFICER II

This position serves as business manager with oversight of the development and progress of UAB Multiple Sclerosis Center under the Burton Endowed Chair; Assesses needs and implements systems to optimize overall communication and program growth; Tracks research projects and progress for Center faculty, acceleration awardees, and MS scholar awardees; Functions as a Center liaison for external stakeholders and community partners; Collaborates with Development to strategically pursue/maximize funding opportunities; Manages marketing/public relations strategy, researches national trends for intentional growth and objective planning; serves as the Center's financial, budget, compliance, and grants management officer; and directs the Center's website content strategy.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Administrative, financial, and operational oversight of MS Center including grants management. Provides input and guidance on staffing/hiring strategy with center expansion.
- Assists Burton Chair with strategic planning for Center and research portfolio growth
- Liaison to Chair's Office and MS clinical division
- Reporting and communications for external stakeholders and inter-institutional/inter-departmental collaboration
- Maintenance of public-facing UAB MS Center website and Center communications
- Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $60,835 - $98,855
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
- And five (5) years of related experience required.
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
