FOR USE BY IT AND HSIS ONLY: The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an INFORMATION SECURITY ASSOCIATE-ENT to implement data network security measures in support of the UAB Information Security Program. To operate and monitor information security tools and systems while assisting in providing security for network, web, cloud and mobile structures. To perform basic penetration testing or to conduct social engineering and phishing/spear-phishing campaigns to assess risk. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis.

Associate's degree in Information Systems or a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
