The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Cell, Developmental and Integrative Biology, is seeking a Researcher III to join our team.

General Responsibilities

As directed:

• To independently set up and perform experiments and procedures in support of lab goals.
• To collect, enter, summarize, and analyze data.
• To monitor results, detect and report unusual outcomes and suggest modifications.
• To develop and improve techniques for the lab.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals.
2. Runs assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc.
3. Assists other lab personnel with ongoing projects.
4. Collects, enters, and summarizes data.
5. Monitors results; detects and reports unusual outcomes.
6. Assists in the maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment and supplies.
7. Performs basic statistical data analysis.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range $35,570.00 - $59,800.00

• Master's degree in a related field
• OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
• OR Associate's degree in a related field and four (4) years of related experience

Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

• Degree in a life science field, neurobiology, or neuroscience and two (2) years of related experience.
• Experience in animal handling.
• Mice research experience.
• Wet lab experience.
• Data analysis.
