PROGRAM MANAGER II: SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH
The UAB School of Public Health is seeking a Program Manager II who will be responsible for administratively managing the Deep South Occupational Safety and Health Education Research Center's (DSC) training program. The Deep South Center is the center for excellence in research, training, and outreach for Occupational Health Nursing, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, and Ergonomics in the Southeastern US. Since 1982, the DSC has greatly impacted our region's economy and workforce. The selected candidate will provide input into the development of the program plan and objectives, with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters. Responsibilities include budgeting, networking/public relations, technical training and assistance, grant and report writing, regulatory responsibilities, contract submissions, and event planning.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor budgets and grant funding to ensure expenditures are within specifications and in line with spending projections
- Coordinate the marketing and review/awarding processes of the annual pilot project research training program
- Grants administration responsibilities including post-award management and annual programmatic reporting. Process Quarterly updates in ERA commons of student progress
- Manage and maintain center website (design/update website); create ERC Newsletter Promote center activities using social media sites through the creation and maintenance of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages
- Process reimbursements, order capital equipment/supplies; student travel reimbursement/flights; instructor payments; and process stipend payments for summer program students
- Manage DSC Board of Advisors; and facilitate BOA meetings/activities Annual Undergraduate Summer Program
- Assist with the Annual Public Health Influencer Summer Program
- Attend the Annual AIHA Conference/work with the Alumni development team for the annual student alumni meeting
- Evaluation (Work with the evaluation team to develop surveys/assessments for ERC)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Annual Salary Range: $51,270-$83,300
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
